I have studiend popualtion genetics scince 2010 when I started writing my masters thesis at Copenhagen University. I am facinated by the evolutionary and demographic processes that genetically link populations and species and the aim of my research is to understand how these processes shape the genomic variability we observe today.

My current research aims to understand how natural hybridization have shaped the biogeographic and evolutionary history of the plant genus Mentha (mints). The species in the mint genus form an array of stable hybrid species some of which maintains fertility and can backcorss to their parental speceis. This has created a complex genetic network of species. I am particularly interested in understanding to what extend hybrid species act as mediators of gene flow in this complex species network.
